People often ask us about the privacy of their personal health information (PHI).
In short, the OSUHP is required by state and federal laws to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of our members' protected PHI.
The OSUHP will not share your PHI with your employer (most often The Ohio State University) without your express authorization. It is important to remember that the OSUHP will never ask you for your social security number.
Employees of OSUHP have been trained in HIPAA regulations. We take member confidentiality extremely seriously and take every measure available to us to insure that HIPAA is front and center of everything we do.
