Now is a good time to sit down to prioritize resources and budgets.

Tis the season to plan ahead.

The rising cost of everything seems to be on the forefront of most people’s minds as we head into the fall and the holiday season.  While fall brings with it cooler temperatures, pumpkin spice, and of course football, it also signals the beginning of the end of the calendar year and a need to prepare for what is ahead while wrapping up loose ends.  If you are like me, you may be working to cram in all of your doctor appointments by the end of the benefit year and working to finally start budgeting, or actually stick to a budget, for the holidays.   No matter what the reason, this month is a good time to sit down to prioritize resources and budgets.  Educate yourself on how to end this year with a bang and start the new one on a good note.

The OSU Health Plan and your Employee Assistance Program are here to help.  One of the first things you can do to make sure you are fiscally and physically healthy is to take time to evaluate your spending for the last year.  The OSU EAP and its partner, Impact Solutions, offer wonderful tools to help calculate your healthcare costs and budgeting needs through the EAP website calculators tile and valuable webinars offered through Apprisen Financial Services

The office of Human Resources, Buckeye Wellness, and the OSU Health Plan are committed to helping members understand their healthcare costs and benefits as well.  The OSU EAP offers educational resources to help learn what options are best for you when picking your healthcare plan. The Open Enrollment period for the OSU Health Plan is November 1 to November 14.  Let these invaluable resources help you with picking the best benefit packages for you based on your anticipated and unanticipated healthcare costs.  Check out this wonderful insurance resource here.

As always, if the stress of it all is getting you down, your EAP is just a phone call or email away.  We are happy to help support you in any way we can.  Contact us toll free at 800-678-6265 or via email at EAP@osumc.edu.
