Ohio State EAP Series Offers Opportunities to Learn, Grow and Connect
Helka Casey, LPCC-S, CEAP; The Ohio State University Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Each year, The Ohio State University Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers at least two new series topics grounded in EAP expertise and the needs we see across the Ohio State community. Each series includes four weekly, 30‑minute virtual sessions, offered three times per year. These sessions are intentionally not recorded to create a comfortable space for real‑time engagement, reflection, and learning from one another’s strengths.

Our goal is that you leave the series with not only a deeper understanding of the topic, but also practical skills you can weave into your daily life to support your well‑being.

We hope you consider registering for one of the two series below:

Wired for Well-Being: A Polyvagal Toolkit for Stress Reduction and More

This four-part interactive EAP series explores how the nervous system shapes stress, communication, emotional well-being, and connection…through the lens of Polyvagal Theory.

Participants will learn the science behind the body’s safety and threat responses and gain practical, easy-to-use strategies to regulate their nervous system in real time. This series blends psychoeducation, guided exercises, self-reflection, and skill-building. By the end, participants will better understand their own stress patterns, recognize physiological cues, and apply evidence-informed techniques to foster calm, focus, resilience, and healthier relationships at work and beyond.

Thriving at Work and Beyond: Building Balance and Resilience

At times, it feels like we are just surviving our busy lives, but what about thriving instead? Attend this four-part interactive series to learn how to identify the blocks in the way, build skills such as boundary setting and cognitive reframing, and change the way you find balance and resilience in your personal and work life. By the end of the series, you will have a better understanding of how to have balance, how to reframe negative cognitions, set boundaries, increase self-compassion, and have more resilience through exercises and homework between the workshop sections.
